Shipping policy

General Information

  • Address Requirements: Street addresses and phone numbers are required for all shipments. We cannot deliver to PO/APO/FPO boxes or internationally. An adult over the age of 21 must be present to sign for the shipment. Shipping to a business address is strongly recommended.

  • Accuracy of Information: Please ensure your address and zip code are correct and complete (including unit #, floor #, etc.) when placing an order. Carriers may charge $10.00 for incorrect or incomplete information. If the recipient re-routes the shipment, an additional $10.00 fee will apply.

  • Compliance: The regulatory environment for shipping alcohol is complex and constantly changing. Our processing team will check each order for compliance and will contact you if there are any issues.

  • Permitted Shipping Areas: We are currently permitted to ship wine to addresses as per U.S. alcohol regulations. Shipping rates are set up for California addresses; please contact us to ship to other states.

  • Carrier Information: All wine shipping is typically via GLS and must be accepted by an adult (21+ years old). FedEx Ground is also available. Non-wine items may be shipped via USPS and will ship separately from wine orders.

Important Information for FedEx Orders

  • Have your valid government-issued photo ID ready at the time of delivery. Effective 06/28/22, FedEx uses scanning technology to verify age requirements. This technology only captures the recipient’s first initial and last name and does not store any other personal data.

Title and Ownership

  • Title to and ownership of all wine passes from Sippin Somm Wines to the purchaser in the State of California. The purchaser is responsible for the import of the package from California to their home state. By placing an order, the purchaser authorizes Sippin Somm Wines to engage a common carrier to deliver the order and confirms compliance with local laws.

  • The purchaser represents that they have obtained all required permissions, paid all required fees, and are legally entitled to take possession of and transport the wine. The purchaser must be 21 years of age.

Liability

  • Sippin Somm Wines is not liable for any damages caused by weather conditions and other "Acts of God" during transportation. We assume no liability for damage caused by changes in weather during transit. "Acts of God" include, but are not limited to, plane crashes, delays, accidents, domestic and international unrest, confiscation, quarantine, or natural disasters.

Shipping Costs

  • Shipping costs vary based on the number of bottles, distance from our office in Glendora, and type of service selected. It is most economical to ship 6 or 12 bottles at a time. You can adjust your order in the Shopping Cart to see different shipping costs by varying the quantity of wine.

Fulfillment

  • After placing an order, you will receive a confirmation email. This does not confirm fulfillment, as all orders are subject to product availability. Once fulfilled, you will receive a tracking number.

  • Orders destined for California addresses usually ship within 24 hours and can take 1-5 days to arrive. Orders are processed and shipped Monday - Friday. Please add 1-3 business days of processing time to the transit speed selected.

  • For specific delivery dates, contact us at 909-265-3262 or info@sippinsommwines.com. Ground shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed by FedEx/GLS or Sippin Somm Wines.

Holiday Shipping

  • From December 1st to December 31st, no shipments are guaranteed to arrive in the allotted time frame due to carrier constraints.

Packaging

  • We use boxes made from renewable corrugated board and pulp inserts. During May through October, cold packs may be added.

Shipping Holds

  • We may hold packages during extreme weather conditions (hot or cold) to prevent damage. This may delay your shipment for a week or more. Contact us if you need your wine by a specific date.

  • To avoid weekend delays, we normally don’t ship on Friday, pending weather conditions and destination.

  • You may order wine for pickup at our office in Glendora during regular business hours.

  • Pick Up Hours

    • Tuesday - Friday: 9 am - 5 pm 

    • Saturday - Monday: 10 am - 4 pm, by appointment only

      • Orders $50+: $5 Delivery Fee

      • Orders $100+: Free Delivery

    • Neighboring Cities (Azusa, San Dimas - 91702, 91773):

      • Orders $100+: $10 Delivery Fee

      • Orders $200+: Free Delivery

    • Local Delivery Zone Cities (91016, 91008, 91010, 91722, 91724, 91750, 91711):

      • Orders $200+: $10 Delivery Fee

      • Orders $300+: Free Delivery

    • Delivery Time Requests: We will accommodate delivery time requests to the best of our ability.

  • Fulfillment
    • To ensure timely delivery, please place your order by 12:00 pm for next day delivery

    • Minimum fulfillment period: 12 hours

    • In many cases, same day pick up at the Glendora office is available with 2 hour fulfillment period

  • Delivery Instructions
    • Please provide clear and accurate delivery instructions, including:

      • Complete and correct delivery address

      • Any gate codes, building numbers, or apartment/unit information

      • Contact phone number

  • Age Verification
    • Upon delivery, the recipient must present a valid, government-issued ID to verify they are of legal drinking age (21 years or older).

    • We reserve the right to refuse delivery if the recipient cannot provide proper identification.

  • Delivery Conditions
    • Deliveries may be delayed or rescheduled due to severe weather conditions

    • We are not responsible for delays caused by unforeseen circumstances such as traffic, weather conditions, or unforeseen events, but will call/text contact number if unforeseen circumstances delay delivery

    • We cannot guarantee specific delivery times within the selected window.

  • Order Cancellations
    • If you need to cancel your delivery order, please contact us as soon as possible.

    • Cancellation fees may apply, depending on the circumstances.

    • After two failed delivery attempts, any applicable delivery fees are forfeited

    • After two failed attempts, orders will be held at the Glendora office for pick up within normal business hours

  • Damaged Goods
    • Upon delivery, please inspect your order for any damage.

    • If you receive any damaged goods, please contact us immediately so we can resolve the issue.

  • Shipping Policy Applies
    • All local deliveries are subject to our general Shipping Policy, including the requirement for a signature from an individual 21 years of age or older.

  • Holiday Delivery
    • We do not offer delivery service on the following holidays:
      • Thanksgiving Day
      • Christmas Day
      • New Year's Day
      • Fourth of July

    • Delivery service may be limited or unavailable on other nationally recognized holidays (e.g., Memorial Day, Labor Day, Martin Luther King Day).

      • Please check our website or contact us directly for specific holiday delivery schedules.

    • Holiday Delivery Surcharges: A holiday delivery surcharge may apply for deliveries made on or around certain holidays.

    • Please refer to our website or contact us for the most up-to-date information regarding holiday local delivery.

Adult Signature Required

  • You must be 21 years or older to order wine. An adult signature is required for delivery. If this is an issue, please contact us to locate a convenient FedEx location for delivery.

  • You can also place your order by phone during normal business hours at (909) 265-3262.

Free Shipping Promotions

  • Shipping promotions cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.

  • SHIP300: Valid on order sub-total of $300 or more when shipping to California. Select rate SHIP300 to apply. Sales Tax does not apply towards SHIP300. Orders will be shipped either ground using GLS or FedEx. Cannot be combined with other discounts or coupons. Shipping included applies only to wine. Sippin Somm Wines reserves the right to cancel or adjust your order. Not valid for shipping outside of California.
