What kind of events do you offer?

We have three main event services:

1. Event Wines - for larger gatheerings with catering or bar staff

2. Wine Pairing Wines - Intimate dinners, VIP events, tasting menus in collaboration with cullinary teams

3. Signature Soirees (Events) - prepackaged (turnkey) scalable group expieriences, such as blind tastings, wine and cheese pairings, regional explorations, educational and sensory tastings, tasting basics.

What do you provide?

For in-home (or office) Signature Soirees, we provide everything necessary for the wine tasting event, at the very minimum - glassware, educational materials (tasting mats, tasting notes, etc.). Depending on the style of event, we also provide any necessary serving utensils and accompaniment needed. We do not provide chairs, tables, or linens.

If Sommelier Service for intimate dinners is contracted, glassware and serving tools may be provided.

Where do you get your wines from? How do you choose your wines?

Our team of wine professionals and sommeliers work with a number of wine vendors and distributors and focus on smaller production boutique wines that are not only high quality, but flavorful. We taste all products we have on the online shop and available for event services.

How many people can I have for my event? Minimum? Maximum?

For in-home/office Signature Soirees or intimate wine dinners pricing/packaging starts at 6 guests.

Signature Soirees are scalable, but may require additional staffing (by Sippin Somm Wines or Venue Staff).

For intimate chef driven multi - course wine paired events, we advise no more than 30 guests. The intimate nature of smaller events lends itself to highly curated wines, service, and unforgettable experiences.

How long are your events?

For Signature Soirees, depending on the number of guests, we anticipate events to last between 1.5 - 2.0 hours, perhaps longer depending on the number of guests.

Wine dinners and extensive food pairings will likely go beyond the 2.0 hour time frame. The duration of the event does not include set up and breakdown/cleanup.

Do you have any specialties?

We specialize in interactive tasting events where guests not only taste wine, but play with it - try to deduce flavors or match it with different foods. We enjoy blind tastings, educational events, and food pairings.

Do you offer wine dinners?

Yes! We have private chefs we work with to coordinate wine dinners. Also, we are happy to work with your favorite restaurant to create a wine list that pairs with your favorite menu items.

Do you do tasting event consultations?

Depending on the style of event, we have a preliminary questionnaire to assess the preferences of your guests - wine should be enjoyed by all!

Generally, wine only tasting events and wine events that feature small bites/appetizers don’t require tasting consultations.

However, wine dinners and extensive pairings may require one where Sippin Somm Wines will consult with the host/hostess and chef on the menu.

When do I need to submit my final guest count?

Final guest counts deadlines vary on the service/event requested

Event Wines (large parties) - we offer a recommendation of how many cases your party will likely need based on guest count. Significant increases, requiring additional cases is due 60 days prior to delivery date. Additional cases are subject to availability and may incur rush fees.

Wine Pairing Wines (intimate dinners/VIP events/tasting menus) - due 30 days from the delivery or event date (whichever is first). Additions to the guest count that affects the number of bottles is subject to availability and may incur rush fees.

Signature Soirees/Events (prepackaged group experiences) - due 14 days from the event date. Additions to the guest count that affects the number of bottles is subject to availability and may incur rush fees

When do I have to book or reserve by?

Our private tastings are customized to the host/hostess, as such they require some logistical planning.

Wine Pairing Wines (intimate dinners/VIP events/tasting menus) - the ideal process begins 75+ days before the event date. This time allows Sippin Somm Wines and the culinary team to collaborate and potentially source wines and staff. Final wine orders (sourcing) and service requests due 30 days from the event date (requiring payments and service deposit). The earlier the service request is made, the more likely the date is available. Rush fees may be incurre if changes are requested within 31 days from the event or delivery date.

Signature Soirees/Events - paid deposit is due 30 days from the event date, subject to availability. The earlier the Signature Soirees request is made, the more likely the date is available.

Event Wines - final orders for Event Wines is due 60 days from the delivery date. An optional Event Wine Tastings require 30 day notice (90 days from the delivery date)

How much does a wine tasting event cost?

The cost of a wine tasting event varies depending on the style of event, number of guests, etc.

At minimum, our Signature Soirees include wine, glassware, tasting notes, and a dedicated wine specialist/sommelier. In home Signature Soirees start at $400, with an six person minimum - not including tax, delivery, or gratuity.

What is your payment policy

Sippin Somm Wines offers a suite of services for wine events, that are entirely customizeable and, therefore, payment policies vary based on selected service.

Signature Soirees - 50% deposit is due at the time of booking. If event is booked under 30 days (subject to availability), payment is due upon booking, rush fees apply.

Event Wines - Full payment is due with final wine order. Installment plans available for 12+ case orders. Event Wine Tasting deposit (starting at $200) is due at the time of booking. Deposit can be applied to the final wine order.

Wine Pairing Wines - different levels of service have different policies

  • Level 1: General Consultations - due upon proposal approval
  • Level 2: Consultation & Wine Sourcing - Consultation fee due upon proposal approval/agreement signature. Wine Sourcing (payment for bottles) due upon wine order placement.
  • Level 3: Consultation & Wine Sourcing & On-Site Sommelier Service -Consultation fee due upon proposal approval/agreement signature. Wine Sourcing (payment for bottles) due upon wine order placement. Service deposit due 30 days prior to event date. Final payments due 14 days prior to event date.

A standard sales tax and admin charge will apply to all food, beverage, and labor. A credit card is required to confirm the event.

What’s the cancellation policy?

Sippin Somm Wines offers a suite of services for wine events, that are entirely customizeable and, therefore, cancellation (and refund) policies vary based on selected service.


Event Wines - Cancellation requests must be requested oriot to event wine delivery date, and are granted on a case by case basis. Partial or full refunds due to client cancellation request is not guaranteed and based on timing and ordering status. Event tasting deposits, once executed, are non-refundable. See full policy here.

Signature Soirees - If the event contract is terminated mor than 14 days from the event date, Sippin Somm Wines will issue a refund of the deposit, less a service fee. If terminated within 14 days of the event date, Sippin Somm Wines will retain a portion of the event payment. If the event contract is terminated within 7 days, the client may still cancel, but is not eligible for a refund. See full policy here.

Wine Pairing Wines

  • Level 1: General Consultation - once proposal approved and consultation fee paid, is non-refundable
  • Level 2: Consultation & Wine Sourcing - consultation is non-refundable, once a final wine list is approved (and commitment made and paid), the wine order is considered confirmed and non-cancellable (or refundable)
  • Level 3: Consultation & Wine Sourcing & On-Site Sommelier Service - consultation and wine sourcing is non-cancellable or refundable. If contracted Sommelieer Service is cancelled more than 14 days from the event, a refund of the deposit minus a service fee can be issued. If the Sommelier Service contract is cancelled less than 14 days from the event, Sippin Somm Wines will retain a portion of the event payment. If the Sommelier Service contract is cancelled within 7 days of the event date, the client is not eligible for a refund.

Refunds, if granted, apply only to unperformed services and do not apply to completed consultation work, approved wine lists, sourced wines, special orders, or third-party commitments.

Cancellations and refunds are granted on a case by case basis. Any refund granted incurs a service fee.

Should the event be canceled by Sippin Somm Wines, Sippin Somm Wines will fully refund any deposit within ten (10) days of the date of cancellation.
